We are hiring an UG Engineer Applications.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in application development/support or IT systems.
• Experience working with operational or industrial systems is an advantage.
• Knowledge of C#, MVC, Node.js, or Python.
• Experience with databases
• Strong troubleshooting and system support skills.
• Good communication skills in English and Mongolian.
• Ability to work with users, developers, and vendors.

Work Area

• Serve as a technical resource for application development and support within daily UG Ops Systems operations and UG project development.
• Provide daily support for pre-built applications, vendor systems, and collaborate with DevOps and software development teams using modern tools (e.g., MVC, Node.js, Python).
• Respond to requests from issue tracking tools, end-users, and UG Tech leaders to meet the needs of UG departments.
• Maintain consistency with OT development standards, including environment setup, programming language, design format, and security requirements to ensure usability and maintainability.
• Participate in internal meetings for task allocation, progress tracking, and performance reviews.
• Attend external meetings with vendors and technical partners (in both English and Mongolian) to support reporting-related projects and troubleshoot issues.
• Escalate unresolved issues using available tools and reports.
• Understand end-user requirements for application development and integration, and recommend optimal designs, efficient algorithms, and seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
• Support software systems and, where applicable, physical components related to mine operations and maintenance (e.g., Mobile Asset Health, Fixed Asset Health streaming data apps, MHS alarm/event processing, TimeSeries visualization tools, Shaft and Logistics apps, Kiosks, Turnstile integration, Bus card reader and BAC testing station, Production Control and Planning systems such as Orb, Ops, Pitram).

Technical Responsibilities

• Support IT systems and software used in underground mining operations using tools such as Visual Studio, Argo, GitLab, Tanzu, and Grafana for application and dashboard development.
• Work with various data formats and storage systems including MS-SQL, PostgreSQL, InfluxDB, PI, JSON, CSV, Excel, and RESTful APIs.
• Apply data enablement techniques to analyze performance variances and generate accurate reports, including those from vendor-provided OEM systems.
• Continuously learn about underground mining operations, equipment, location-based data, reporting needs, and the UG/OT IT environment, including development and security requirements.
• Follow DevOps protocols for critical system application support, including upgrades, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Implement technical changes after hours and ensure critical reports and applications are available for the next shift.
