Manage / action recommendations from audits and incidents related to the functional safety system

Coordination and/or facilitation of hazard, risk and gap analysis.
Ensure all activities to meet chosen standard are completed appropriately including both qualitative (Level 2) and quantitative (Level 3) analysis as required
Engineering (30%)
Liaise with contractors to ensure resources & objectives are aligned with the corporate strategy & objectives. Act as an influential leader & develop organizational capability & identify talent in area of responsibility
Participates as a team member in a specific phase of a broad engineering assignment, including technical, studies and site investigations (includes relevant requirements needed such as permits, etc.).
Selects engineering techniques to solve problems and makes design recommendations.
Maintains/optimises existing assets and applies complex problem solving techniques to resolve issues.
Responsible for delivering results on specific KPIs.
Directs preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned projects.
Provides technical leadership to a group of assigned engineers, designers and technicians.
Participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work.
Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions.
Conducts complex equipment failure investigation and mitigation.
Understands the role of engineering and recognizes the impacts the engineering process has with regards to projects, operations and the broader company.
Ensure relevant technical FSMP is up to date and mandated to operate
Ensure (working with the engineering manager where applicable) appropriate risk assessments are completed, hazards are identified and captured in an accessible hazard log
Work with suppliers to deliver effective safety systems and safety requirements
Ensure appropriate validation of systems is completed
Communicate to Emergency Response teams constraints related to safety systems
Ensure appropriate assurance is planned, actioned and recorded
Develop and manage a functional safety audit/assessment plan
Leadership (20%)
Review the data analysis on electrical Functional Safety systems and equipment performance.
Provide recommendations and action plan to achieve efficient and reliable performance specifically those related to D7 protective systems.
Lead and/or coordinate with maintenance personnel in conducting strategic data acquisition and performance evaluation of the D7 fixed and mobile assets.
Supervises experienced and junior engineers, assigns tasks to experienced and junior engineers, builds the relationships to work with the operations , maintenance and planners for the area of accountability.
Effectively manages a team within the larger team so should be held accountable for the safety , productivity and development of the team.
Lead group of people to solve complex problem or cost saving projects.
RCA/DE (10%)
Solves a range of problems using largely defined procedures and solutions. Lead and facilitate complex problem and identify solutions then implement solutions.
Review and advice on the test reports to interpreting the test results.
Provides specific engineering training (equipment testing, specific instrument tools, interpreting the test results ) to the stakeholders and junior engineers.
Tactic (10%):
Lead and direct small working group to develop maintenance tactics on plants or systems, as per the asset management guidelines. Guide and oversee other engineers' performances and improve their knowledge and skills.
Develops improvement plans to comply with internal/external stakeholder demands for reliable processes/equipment to avoid failures.
Develops and implements recommendations for asset reliability and optimization opportunities.
Recommend and facilitate the development and implementation of strategies for improving equipment and process reliability
MOC (20%)
Management of modifications to safety systems D7
Proactive to initiate and effectively drive the Energy/ cost saving projects
Assists with the development of capital projects processes, practices and tools.
Assists with applying discipline governance and quality assurance/ quality control across capital projects.
Review and ensure MOCs which related to asset lifecycles and long term plans of assets. Encourage and coach people to follow up MOC on various type of changes.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree or higher education obtained through degrees or diplomas from academic college or universities.
Control systems, insturmentation, Engineering, Mining, Maintenance or relevant discipline.
At least 5 years of relevant Functional safety (IEC61508, IEC61511, IEC62061)experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training
Good experience in Functional safety (IEC61508, IEC61511, IEC62061), control systems design, installation, commisioning and operations. Also, good skill with a manages people.
