We are hiring a Technician Geology.

Duties and responsibilities:

Operational Delivery (70%) - Key Accountabilities

• Collect representative samples across the value chain and according to the sampling standard work procedure.
• Ensure all samples are entered correctly in acQuire – Arena and that they are bagged and scanned.
• Sort and dispatch samples by following company QAQC protocols.
• Train loader operators in muck sample collection. Utilizing best practice sampling techniques.
• Coordinate/Transport samples to the site lab.
• Collect and prepare standard online analyser samples at Met lab
• Core preparation, including retrieving core from drill rigs, prepare for logging (washing, markup, and placing on logging rails).
• Core photography, measurement of physical properties, get core cut and sampling as directed, and movement of drill core to permanent storage.
• Collect and enter technical data into corresponding database systems
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Individual and Team Collaboration (15%) 

• Ensures that all field equipment is ready for use, serviced and operational, and tagged in compliance with site standards.
• Collaborate with own team and peers in the mine environment to ensure effective application and dissemination of best practice.
• Interact with the broader mining and support services team to secure necessary support and resources to the overall project.

Requirements:

• High School Certificate
• Minimum 3 year’s work experience or otherwise significant practical experience and on the job training
• Physical strength and stamina to work in an underground mining environment
