Regularly monitor actual project expenditures against the budget and forecast future costs. Prepare detailed cost reports and financial summaries to present to project managers and senior management.
Evaluate the financial impact of changes in project scope, including additional work or alterations, and incorporate these changes into the project budget.
Work closely with the procurement team to manage contracts, including reviewing bids, making recommendations, and ensuring contract compliance regarding project costs.
Identify potential financial risks associated with project delays, cost overruns, and other issues. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks.
Work closely with project managers, project leads, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure cost objectives are met. Provide cost-related input and advice during project planning and execution phases.
Use financial modeling to predict the outcomes of project financial performance. Analyze variances between actual and budgeted or forecasted costs and recommend corrective actions.
Continually assess and improve cost control methods, tools, and processes to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of cost management.
Assist in tracking and documenting Project Change Notices (PCN) to ensure proper integration of scope and cost adjustments.
Maintain relationships with internal cost control engineers and external project partners to support cost control activities.
Acting as a backup for the Project Planner by handling non-SME responsibilities as needed or during the Project Planner’s roster break.
Requirements:
Financing, Engineering, Project management.
Experience in cost controlling and thorough knowledge of cost measurements; ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Experience in construction projects is preferred.
Fluency in English is an advantage.
Ability to work efficiently within short timeframes and demonstrate strong time management skills.
Willingness to learn new things and contribute actively and positively to the team with a proactive attitude.
